Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud Mask

You probably recall my review on Castor Oil by Shiny Leaf (if you forgot don’t fret, you go back and check it out)! I’m back with another Shiny Leaf product. I love this brand for several reasons but the major reasons are that they are all natural, cruelty free, and inexpensive.

The Dead Sea is a body of water between Israel and Jordan that is rich with numerous minerals. The minerals then wash to the sea’s bank and creates a mud that is rich with natural goodness.

This mask made by Shiny Leaf is 100% natural and mineral rich.

This blend of nutrients and minerals does a number of fabulous things for the skin including:

  • It improves complexion by drawing out toxins on the face and in pores to serve as an ultra-effective acne treatment for smooth and clear skin.
  • It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, preventing aging as it promotes elasticity in the skin.
  • It promotes a healthy balance of oil production, fights eczema and psoriasis, and deeply moisturizes the skin.

My first thought about the mask is that it is very thick and cool when initially applied. It did not make my face tingle and did not have an overwhelming scent—perhaps it smells like a toned-down version of playdough. As it dried it began to feel slightly tight and cracked in areas, but it wasn’t so tight that I was unable to talk.

It wasn’t until after I removed the mask that I was completely stunned. My skin was amazingly soft. I tested this mask first thing in the morning and unfortunately had to get ready for the day right after removing, but I am so glad I did. I typically have dry spots which can make my makeup become somewhat flaky throughout the day. This mask moisturized my face so well that it made my foundation look flawless and dewy all day long.

There are several Mud Masks currently out on the market, however, this one by Shiny Leaf is of such great quality that I highly suggest giving it a try!

Since it is all natural ingredients you can use it daily, so I would think it would be ok for sensitive skin. I always suggest testing it on a small area before using on your whole face and I’m sure if you did have a reaction you could return it!
